ith so many people looking to lose weight, there is so much misinformation to contend with like that one must stop drinking in order to facilitate the weight loss process. While there is some modicum of truth in this it is largely untrue that one must stop drinking altogether in order to get rid of that unwanted fat.
It’s true to say that alcohol in large doses is not the best aid for keeping the weight off, heck it’s not a good idea for one’s overall health period. It is also true that habitual drinkers find it harder to take the weight off and indeed keep it off. However this applies to drinkers who lie outside of the moderate drinker bracket. Furthermore the type of alcohol consumed matters very much with some alcoholic beverages packing more calories per serving than others. And one glass of red wine for instance will do nothing but help your heart function that much better.
Losing weight does not mean that one must stop drinking. As far as counting calories, losing weight certainly does mean reducing one’s alcohol intake especially for drinks like beer that typically have a sizeable serving of calories. But just because cutting out alcohol from one’s diet is not a requisite for losing weight, it doesn’t mean that a move down no-alcohol lane wouldn’t be beneficial for other reasons.
