ood caskets are often a much cheaper choice for those who carry out the deceased’s wishes of being cremated as opposed to be buried. For the bazaar phenomenon buying caskets for those who will be cremated is very real indeed.
It is very curious that the deceased who have wished themselves to be cremated instead of buried still find themselves inside a casket before the body is directed toward the crematorium. This seems a little counterproductive, and not to mention a waste of resources when one considers that the body will soon be removed from the casket and into the fires that annihilate them forever. Yet many family members of the deceased to be cremated purchase caskets in order to have their loved ones presented in a most respectable and decent fashion during the memorial service as well as the part of the funeral where those who didn’t get a chance to will pay their last respects. And once the ceremonial formalities have been performed, the casket as well as the deceased’s body will be disposed of.
While there are funeral businesses that loan wood caskets to their clients whose loved ones will be cremated specifically for ceremonial purposes, any attempt to purchase a wood casket, or any for that matter, ought to be discouraged for the utter waste of money it actually is.
