M ost smokers are loathe to quit smoking, and even the ones who desperately want to break the habit have an incredibly difficult time actually letting go of the one sure thing to cause all manner of illnesses. Cigarettes are typically seen as the main culprit where smoking ills are concerned, such as cancer, respiratory diseases and other organ failures, but there’s another silent killer far more toxic than the common cigarette and it’s commonly known as the hookah pipe. Popular among the younger crowds in urban areas, the hookah pipe rarely seen as harmful, by its enthusiasts let alone that it is in fact far more dangerous than cigarettes. That smoking a hookah pipe consistently for an hour is equivalent to smoking two hundred cigarettes in the same amount of time is a revelation that would shock even those who have a wealth of information about the perils of smoking. Yet that is the reality of this smoking habit and one needn’t surmise that the toxic effects of a hookah are infinitely more potent than those of smoking cigarettes. So while cigarette smokers are well advised to quit smoking, those who enjoy the ‘pleasures’ of hookah would do well to break the habit as well. Even though there are far less hookah smokers to be seen enjoying a drag at a lesser frequency than cigarette smokers, the attendant dangers are so much more plentiful than cigarettes that not breaking the habit is a sure march to an early grave.
