here did the summer go??? Every year they seem to get shorter and shorter and here we are again, nearly in September and scrambling to get things ready for back to school!
Standards for all school kids, regardless of age are uniform (if there is one!), school bag, and lunchbox. The rest can be categorized for age. Make life a little easier with this checklist for what you and your child need to be school-ready before the semester starts!
For kindergarten kids, make sure you’re well stocked for things like pencil boxes, crayons, coloured pencils or washable markers. Pencil sharpeners, erasers, glue sticks and blunt-tipped scissors will also keep your little one creating gorgeous fridge-worthy masterpieces to bring home! And a pack of tissues wouldn’t go amiss!
For Elementary School, there’s a few similarities for Grades 1-3: pencil box, crayons, markers, pencils, sharpeners and erasers. But you may want to add in some ballpoint pens, plastic folders, and writing books. Grades 4 and up will likely need a calculator, a calendar or organizer, rig binder(s) and subject dividers as well.
Once you’re in Middle and High School, you can do away with the coloured pencils for the most part (though art supplies if you have a budding artist will need to be added!) and these get replaced by things like post-it notes, highlighters, white-out, math tools (think protractors) and higher-tech calculators. You’ll still need note books, calendars, plastic folders and subject dividers.
Go get 'em, tiger!
