V olkswagen group was one of the global automobile companies to benefit in 2017 having sold up to 10.7 million vehicles. The upcoming 2019 models now seek to increase these sales and grow the US market share that this German automaker has captured. To start us off is the Golf GTI hatch back that is now in its 7th generation and ready for a complete makeover. It has managed to remain on top of its competitors thanks to the subtle sports theme both inside and out. The engine will be 2.0 litres generating 220 horsepower. Depending on the trim, the starting price will range from $26,500 to $40,000. Next in line is the Atlas which improves on the space of the 2018 model by offering an optional third row. The new features include the apple car play and android auto as well as an 8-inch display screen. Most of the trims will be fitted with a 3.6 litre V6 engine that generates 276 horsepower. The atlas S however comes with a 2.0 litre turbo that generates 235 horsepower. With price starting at about $31,000 this will be a suitable family car. We also have the Arteon that will be making a debut in the US market. It will have three trims and come with lane departure warning, forward collision warning and an 8-inch display screen. It will have a 2-litre turbocharged engine drawing 268 horsepower. Price is estimated at $35,340. Finally, we have the all new Jetta that is 1.5 inches wider than the previous model therefore steadier on the road. The engine will be a 1.4 litre generating 147 horsepower. The biggest advantage is the fuel economy at 40mpg on the highway and 30mpg in the city. Depending on the trim, the average price has been placed at $18,208.
