f you would like to visit China or visit Hong Kong, there has never been a better time. China vacations are growing more popular as the country is showing itself to be one of the major world powers. Hong Kong vacations are also totally different from visiting any other city in the world.
Money
First of all when you visit China, you are going to need cash in the local currency of yuan. There are more businesses accepting credit and debit card than ever before but it is certainly not something you should be relying on. If you do need to make a withdrawal, not even all the banks will be able to help you, so make sure you stick to the ATMs from the larger companies such as HSBC. If you do need to talk to someone in a local branch it will probably help to have someone who can translate too.
Documentation
Depending on if you want to visit Hong Kong or China, the rules are slightly different. For Hong Kong vacations and China vacations, you are going to need a visa before you even begin your journey. The application process requires either a direct invitation from someone you know who is already there or a very detailed breakdown of your entire itinerary. This means prebooked return flights and hotel rooms.
Looking After Your Health
During China vacations, do not drink tap water. If you want to drink any water then buy a bottle and make sure it is sealed. If you do need to get ahold of some medicine then the pharmacies will likely be able to sell both Eastern and Western remedies. You do not even need a prescription for most things. In the event that you need to see a doctor, most will be able to speak English and there are specialised hospitals for foreigners.
