he iPhone XR (pronounced “ten-R”) is the twelfth generation of the iPhone and was announced on September 12, 2018, alongside expensively valued iPhone XS and iPhone XS Max at Steve Jobs Theater by Apple CEO Tim Cook. The smartphone was officially released on October 26, 2018, with pre-orders beginning on October 19, 2018, attributed to the much hype surrounding its official release. iPhone XR is considered the least expensive of Apple’s iPhone X line of devices despite having the same processor (the Apple A12 Bionic chip) as the high price iPhone XS and XS Max models.
