O pening this week, Taste of Chicago returns for its 38th year running and is set to wow the foodie public on scales across the nation. Kicking off in Grant Park today and running through to the 15th, Taste of Chicago has more to offer this year than ever before. The largest food festival in the world will be offering up a smorgasbord of food options and 2018 sees 25 new vendors added to the list to bring the round total to 72. The festival is free to attend, but this year there’s an added bonus for those willing to fork over a few bucks in order to escape the sweltering July heat in Chicago. The Taste Oasis will set you back $50 but if you’re in it for the long haul, the air-conditioned environment might be just what you need to keep your energy up for long days eating & drinking your way through the festival. There’s only 250 tickets on offer each day but includes access to a private bar, lounge seating with DJ and a sampling of tasty treats prepared by Washburne Culinary Academy. The Petrillo Music Shell will host concerts in the evening and with the likes of George Clinton Parliament Funkadelic on the line-up, you know its gonna be a good time! There will also be cooking demonstrations and a ‘sandwich smackdown’ competition on the 15th. Leave the packed lunch at home and get yourself down to the greatest food festival on earth!
