amsung has revealed the newest flagship smartphone: the Galaxy S9, which is set for release on 16th March. The phone follows its very successful predecessor-the Galaxy S8 and could potentially set the bar for Android smartphones this year.
On the surface, the S9 doesn't appear like much of an upgrade because it's similar to the S8 in design. However, the phone is one of the most powerful in the market, featuring a powerful camera, edge-to-edge display, AR emoji, and a chic super-slow-motion video.
Upon release, it will sell for £739 while the bigger S9+ will go for £869. The phone is available in two models; the S9 has a 5.8-inch display while the S9+ comes with a 6.2-inch screen. The S9 has a slightly longer screen and a fingerprint sensor at the rear.
It also comes with a single lens camera and is available in four colors although three are accessible in the UK: Midnight Black, Coral Blue, and Lilac Purple. Some of its best features include a much-enhanced camera with numerous interesting innovations like a dual aperture, which implies that you can make the camera lens smaller or larger, fundamentally controlling the amount of light it lets in.
Samsung's AR Emoji is another selling point; it uses amplified reality technology and the front camera to generate the user's avatar. The slow-motion camera is also an improvement of the old model and it can now record at 960 frames per second.
Other features include live translation and infinity display. Some of its drawbacks include the absence of a dual camera and battery life, which the 3,000mAh battery unit still powers. Nonetheless, the phone is worth considering.
