uite possibly the only time when the city isn’t extraordinarily expensive, New York City Restaurant Week (the Summer edition) returns July 23rd – August 17th for 4 weeks of delectable dining experiences that won’t break the bank.
Running now for 26 years, the event began as a lunch-only occasion and each prix-fixe meal cost the diner a launch-year in dollars: $19.92. This year, a 2-course lunch will set you back $26 and a 3-course dinner is priced at $42. Not bad value when you consider some of the spectacular venues that take part in the event.
Diners have nearly 400 options to choose from, in locations across the city: everything from quality cheap eats to high-end & uber-hip hotel restaurants and fine-dining establishments. You can search and book tables by neighbourhood, cuisine, meal time or by specific eatery.
Spots tend to book up fastest in the first week of the month-long event and for dinner reservations specifically. Try scoping out bookings for later in the event and treat yourself to a fancy lunch instead of an evening meal in order to have a better chance of getting in at the most popular establishments.
Head to the official NYC Restaurant Week page for more info and where you can book your spot(s) as of July 9, 2018.
