Manufactured home is basically assembled in the industries or factories and is built as units meant for dwelling at home with different sizes . After assembling, the manufactured home is then transported to the preferred site of use. The home has permanent chassis which is meant to ensure safety during the first time of transportation and any subsequent time. A manufactured home may be either single section or multi-sectioned.
Manufactured homes were initially sold at low cost and due to the high rate of depreciating in value; they were regarded as riskier when used as collateral than the other forms of houses. This attracted a negative stereotype among the people. Also, when used as collateral the interest rates were highly charged and had limited loan term. The manufactured homes were linked to the poor in the society and this resulted into restrictions being placed on the number of the homes to be installed in a particular area or region and this resulted to prejudice.
Manufactured homes were considered more expensive to the country as a result of energy inefficiency. Due to this, high performance manufactured housing has come into place. These houses use less energy compared to old version of manufactured home and have reduced the operating costs by increasing the life-cycle. It is also attractive, provides great resilience to wind, has ambient environment and is water efficient. Manufactured homes usually have various standard requirements.
Manufactured homes and modular homes are factory built but are different in several aspects. Flatbed trucks are usually used in the transportation of the modular homes. The modular home roofs are ferried as separate units. For manufactured homes, after proper site preparations are made, the home is transported by trucks and the separate sections are joined together.
