oing well in your TOEFL depends on a lot on how well you know its format. You need to prepare yourself to do well in all its sections. So, how to prepare for your TOEFL English exam?
1. Reading
This section contains two types of questions: Multiple Choice (MCQ) and Drag-and-Drop. There are about 36 to 56 questions and the duration is for 60-80 minutes. This section is used to test the English reading capabilities of the candidate. Brush up your reading skills - especially the comprehnsions - there are certain tricks that the test uses, which you can master by solving mock papers.
2. Listening
This section might have similar questions as that of the reading section, the MCQ, and the Drag-and-Drop. There may be around 34-51 questions, and the duration is of 60-90 minutes. This section would test the English listening capacity and the ability to understand the English terms with ease. On the test day ensure you've a working microphone.
3. Speaking
The candidates opting for this section are asked to record the prompts given to them on microphones. These prompts might include independent speaking as well as speaking about the given paragraphs or topics. This section might last for around 20 minutes. Speak comfortably, and practice before the test. Don't stutte, but talk normally.
4. Writing
This could be the toughest part as no grammatical mistakes are acceptable here. The candidates can again be asked to write on an independent topic or an assigned one. It's one skill that you need to learn over the years, but you can always organize your essay better to get more marks. Always have an introduction, a body and a conclusion and let the content flow naturally.
