How to install a Wordpress Theme

I nstalling the WordPress is not a hectic process even if you're doing it manually. For beginners, WordPress is a type of publishing software/ content management system (CMS) used to create and manage a website or blog. WordPress is beneficial to all in many ways, some of these being the fact that it's flexible, easy to use, open source and SEO friendly. The following are the steps to follow when installing the software.

1. Download WordPress. Download the package and unzip it to a folder to your local computer.
2. Upload it to your hosting account via FTP, SSH or File Manager.
3. From the MySQL Database Wizard, create a database and add a user to be used by WordPress to store information.
4. Configure or save the database information from step 3 to a file called wp-config-sample.php from the file manager, specifically in the folder where you have saved WordPress. Once you save the created database username and password, click to save changes and close file.
5. Start installing the script the way you saved it on a new browser window, and you will get the 5 minute WordPress installation process invitation.
6. The last step is to complete installation by fielding your site name, username, password, and email address, etc. Lastly, click install now to finish the installation process successfully.

After installing the software itself, you might want to change the theme. To do this, click on Appearance>Themes from your admin area and search for your preferred free theme. Click on install. After successfully installing the theme, WordPress will ask you to activate it. At other times, you might want to install your custom theme from other companies like iThemes. This process will require you to download the theme's zip file. Navigate to your admin area’s Appearance> Themes and add a new theme. After clicking on that, choose to upload the theme to install your zip file. After installing the theme, click on Activate to successfully finish the installation process.
