V isiting the mother of all theme parks is an experience most young children – and adults in some cases – dream of but high prices for Disney World make the probability of many children getting this experience close to none. Amid the financial crises that have plagued much of the western world in recent history, some industries like the entertainment industry have been left little affected, with profits steadily moving upwards; understandably, people need a distraction when facing a crisis of any kind. But that profits are healthy and that it’s more expensive to get into Disney World than it has been in the past does not mean that more people have access to the theme park. Especially not those children whose parents are less financially liquid given that recovery from recessions of the past is taking many people longer than just working off the debt incurred. And since many of the Disney  World visitors come from outside the state, the costs involved are more than just those costs related to experiencing the theme park, going to Disney world becomes further and further out of reach every time the prices go up. Although generally the high prices for Disney World are prohibitive for those many children whose parents simply can’t afford to take them there, the theme park still remains the quintessential theme park experience, second to none.
