iving in the USA there are a huge number of different options available when it comes to attending college. If you and your child are close they might even ask for your help narrowing them down. If you are feeling overwhelmed by all of the choices, consider these things to help weed out choices that wouldn't work well for your child.
What they want to study
While many parents want their kids to go into specific fields, letting your teen pick is more likely to help them succeed in life. Find out if they have a general area of interest and then see what schools offer multiple degrees surrounding that idea. Many schools are awarded “best in the nation” awards based on programs, making them very easy to find via a Google search.
Where they are likely to get scholarships
Tuition is expensive, but finding a school where you child can receive scholarships and grants will take a large amount of financial pressure off of both of you. Look at which schools offer aid to students with similar GPAs and backgrounds to create a shortlist.
