eople gamble for many reasons, which is entirely their prerogative, no one is in any position to tell another how to waste their money but gambling for moneys sake is perhaps the riskiest form of gambling because it is driven mostly by a sense that losing is not an option, one must win at all costs. This is most likely because of the value that people place on money. It is liked to people’s self worth and esteem, their understanding of who they are in their world as well as how they interact with the world based on the value they place on money.
It is probably fair to say that most gamblers don’t believe that they are always on the losing end when gambling. I mean they’ll play at a slot machine and lose more infinitely more times than they win and perhaps they realize every time they find themselves with less money that they are losing money. But the idea that gambling itself as a way of making money is a futile exercise is completely lost on gamblers who gamble for moneys sake. For it is ironically not about the money itself but the value placed on the money that drives this need to keep going back time and again to give their money away to the casino.
It is these gamblers then who gamble for moneys sake that unduly place their finances at the most risk. Because as far as they’re concerned, every loss is one step closer to that ever elusive win, one that can never make up for all the money lost over time.
