he FBI supports its independent police force. The FBI Police duty is safety maintenance for FBI facilities and assets. They also protect information and FBI personnel. These officers have to be highly skilled preventing the occurrence of terrorism and criminal acts targeting their assets.
How to Join the FBI
Those considering joining the FBI Police must meet certain qualifications. The minimum age is 21 and applicants should have a high school diploma and a valid driver’s license. A background check is conducted on the candidates, and they are required to go through a medical exam. The applicants will also undergo a written and physical fitness test. Those who pass the tests are required to undergo a standard training program at the Federal Law Enforcement Training Center that takes ten weeks. After this training, the recruits have an additional one-month training at a location chosen by the FBI. This is required before they can start working.
The FBI Police duties are protecting all FBI assets at all times. The agents are situated in areas where FBI facilities are located. These are in Washington DC, Quantico VA, New York City and Clarksburg WV. Applicants sign an agreement stating they will move to assigned locations for a minimum period of two years.
Security
Other than offering round the clock protection for FBI facilities and assets, they also provide additional security for important people. The FBI police are known to add to the security of key people during major events. Their primary duty during these functions is to identify and neutralize any threats before they occur. They also act as bodyguards for FBI personnel attending the events.
The FBI police are an important law enforcement agency that investigates any possible threats and strives to prevent them from happening.
