A s the air starts to chill and the weather crisps, it’s time to start thinking about that skiing or snowboarding holiday! We’ve rounded up some of the best The States has to offer for your next winter wonderland vacation. For the Experienced: Jackson Hole, Wyoming. This resort’s signature run, Corbet’s Couloir, is not for the faint of heart. The narrow entrance to this 50-degree pitch can really only be accessed by an airborne take off. There is a great choice of steep slopes here and the longest lead’s you on a 1,260m vertical rise to the top. Strap in! For the Old-World Charm: Aspen, Colorado. Aspen is a tried and true favourite and is seriously hard to beat for a cute, snowy, alpine vibe. One lift pass covers all four ski areas of Buttermilk, Aspen Highlands, Snowmass and Aspen Mountain, which is pretty good value for money. The town looks like something out of a story book topped with glistening lights and soft snow. For the Kids: Keystone, Colorado: With free parking close to the base and wagons for your gear (also free), this resort sets things up nicely for a family travelling with little ones. Accommodation is plentiful, and many offer the option for ski-in and ski-out, again making things a little simpler when just getting out of the house can be a mission! There’s a kiddie’s ski school, play grounds and min-shredders as well as some excellent après ski options for weary parents.
