hile customers would find it better, sellers aren't as happy with the recent move by Amazon. Amazon has drawn the ire of its sellers in a bid to please the customers of the online portal.
What is the change about?
In a recent change of rules, sellers who handled the shipping of products themselves will have to abide by the return policy practiced by Amazon itself. Customers will now be able to automatically authorize their products for return without communicating with the seller.
Another change in rule involves "returnless refund" where customers would get a refund without returning some specific products. The change in rules was notified to the sellers through an email from Amazon.
The move hasn’t been taken positively by the sellers. Many of them are small businessmen who operate out of their garage or homes. One seller told that the company is assuming that customers never lie in spite of several scam buyers being out there. Another called it a joke and expressed that it would lead to their loss.
Amazon said in an email that the move was to give customers a hassle free return service. Sellers would also be able to cut down the time and expenses related to returns, as per the company. The new change in rules is going to take effect from October unless the ire of the sellers prompts some other action from Amazon.
