When it comes to finding the perfect Christmas gift, there are a lot of things to think about. There is no one “perfect” gift for everyone, so you have to balance what you know about the person, your budget and other things. So what do you do when you’re stumped? What do you get for someone who has everything?
A very simple gift that is always appreciated is a gift card. This removes all the burden from you, and lets them decide what they want (or need). And you won’t be alone: in 2015 an estimated three-quarters of shoppers bought at least one gift card.
If you’re buying for a fashionista, both Abercrombie & Fitch and the Gap offer online gift cards. A&F cards are valid on the same day as purchase, and range from $25-$500, and are redeemable online and in both the US and Canada. The Gap cards are valid in Gap, Old Navy, Banana Republic and Athleta, and have no expiration date.
For techies, try Apple e-gift certificates. These are emailed directly to the recipient, while you receive the receipt. However, they’re not compatible with iTunes, so be sure to double check what you’re buying. The iTunes gift card is similar, offering the recipient access to Apple’s vast music library.
Finally, what can you get if you have no idea what to get? An Amazon gift card lets the user buy anything from Amazon, with no real limits. Not sure if they want a new laptop or new shoes? Let them grab it themselves off Amazon. You can choose to send between $25-200 dollars, and they can get anything they wish.
When it comes to finding the perfect Christmas gift, it’s difficult to go wrong with a gift card. Make it easy for yourself and fun for them by letting them get what they want, not what you think they want.
